Empowering Resiliency: Introducing The Preston Resiliency App

The Resiliency Initiative recently reached a significant milestone: our 5th anniversary. Back in 2019, I founded TRI while still working at the Walt Disney Company. I was driven by a desire to return to my roots—supporting communities and small businesses with crisis and continuity of operations planning (COOP). Little did I know that shortly after starting this venture, I would take on a role at Walmart that would dramatically alter my life's trajectory.

In January 2020, I relocated from Southern California to Northwest Arkansas to become Walmart’s Senior Director of Global Emergency Management. Like everyone else, I had no idea that within months, the world would shift in ways we could never have imagined. As my team and I guided the Fortune 1 company through unprecedented challenges—operating virtual emergency operations around the clock and managing our first global Emergency Operations Center activation—I witnessed friends losing jobs, businesses shutting down, and communities grappling with the crisis. It was heartbreaking, and it ignited a profound desire within me to help.

In May 2022, as I sensed a light at the end of the tunnel with Walmart’s COVID-19 response, I made the decision to leave my corporate role and dedicate myself fully to TRI. My journey as a small business owner has been both exhilarating and daunting. There are days when I question my decision to leave Corporate America (and the stability it provided), but I have to admit, I’ve never felt happier. Being hands-on and helping other businesses and communities develop their COOP strategies is deeply fulfilling. I’m fortunate to work with some of the most talented and passionate individuals in the field. The TRI team is constantly innovating and seeking new ways to support our clients while simplifying their crisis and continuity planning processes. My ultimate goal is to make crisis planning as routine as brushing your teeth—simple and second nature.

Recently, one of my incredible teammates, Clinton Preston, developed a groundbreaking application on the Glide Platform focused on crisis and continuity planning: The Preston Resiliency App. (I must credit Clinton here, even though he humbly resisted the title!) This app redefines emergency preparedness, providing instant access to customizable emergency responses and procedures. It streamlines responses to crises such as fires, active assailants, and power outages. Plus, it can fully automate your organization’s continuity operations, offering efficient workflows to identify essential functions, document dependencies, and set recovery time objectives. You can establish a clear, step-by-step process to assess and prioritize risks within your organization.

The Preston Resiliency App starts at $2,500, with pricing based on the number of users and the level of customization needed.

Give us a call at +1 (424) 478-0779 or email us at info@theresiliencyinitiative.com. We’d love to tell you more about the Preston Resiliency App.

Have a great fall!

Andrea
